Pastoral Spiritual Support

Spiritual Care at Parrish Medical Center

Spiritual care for patients and families is an important part of healing and whole-person healthcare. Parrish Medical Center offers 24-hour spiritual and faith-based support for patients and their loved ones. If you or your family would like spiritual support during your hospital stay, please ask your nurse for assistance.

Jerald Smith All Faiths Chapel

The Jerald Smith All Faiths Chapel, located on the second floor of Parrish Medical Center near the top of the staircase, provides a quiet and welcoming space for reflection, prayer, meditation and comfort. Open to people of all faiths and beliefs, the chapel offers a private place for patients, families and visitors to pause and seek spiritual strength at any time during their visit.

Ethical Concerns

At times, questions or decisions regarding medical care and treatment may conflict with personal beliefs, values or spiritual teachings. Parrish Medical Center’s Ethics Committee is available to provide guidance and support in addressing these concerns. The Ethics Committee is a multidisciplinary team composed of physicians, clergy, hospital staff and community members who offer consultation to help patients, families and caregivers navigate complex healthcare decisions with compassion, respect and understanding.
