Jess Parrish Medical Foundation’s Physician Giving Network donated funds for new equipment to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
The Physician Giving Network is a charitable fund led by Parrish Medical Center (PMC) physicians to continue the excellence in healthcare at PMC and further its mission of providing Healing Experiences for Everyone All the Time®. Led by a physician steering committee, this group purchases necessary equipment according to physician specified needs.
“Working hands-on with the patients and medical staff, the steering committee understands the most urgent needs that will create the greatest impact for our patients,” said Physician Giving Network chairman Dr. Christopher Manion. “We’re confident the new equipment will enhance PMC’s healing environment.”
Since 2011, the physicians in this network have given more than $100,000 and have funded the following:
• Bladder ultrasound devices, a safer alternative to invasive urethral catheterization to diagnose certain bladder conditions. The use of these ultrasound devices has helped PMC maintain its excellent patient safety record.
• AccuVein devices, allows clinicians to locate veins accurately and improves patient comfort. Simply by holding the device above the skin, a map of the patient’s veins is displayed on the surface of the skin.
• New Bili lights to treat newborn jaundice.
• Interactive Metronome program, a research-based program used by PMC therapy professionals to address the symptoms of many conditions like ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Stroke, Parkinson’s and Traumatic Brain Injury.
• New sleep sofas for the Women’s Center birthing suites.
