Jess Parrish Medical Foundation’s annual benefit gala was a tremendous success, raising over $125,000 in net proceeds, exceeding the goal by over $5,000. Proceeds benefited the Women’s Center North Guild so they can continue to address the urgent needs of domestic violence victims by providing counseling services, financial assistance, career guidance, victim advocacy, and a safe house in North Brevard County.
Earlier this year, the Circle of Giving, Parrish Medical Center’s employee giving program, raised over $120,000 to also benefit the Women’s Center North Guild. With both projects exceeding goal, the Women’s Center North Guild will now have a permanent home in North Brevard which supports PMC’s vision of Healing Families–Healing Communities®.
In late October 2014, Latin Fusion…Feel the Rhythm of the Night transported guests on a Latin inspired luxury vacation presented by the law firm of GrayRobinson, P.A., William A. Boyles & Troy A. Kishbaugh. The nearly 300 guests shopped for silent auction baskets at the bodega, enjoyed performances by Downtown Dance Studio and relaxed in the cabana ballroom. With a surprise entrance, glamorous Brazilian samba dancers with colorful sequins and feather headdresses lead the crowd onto the dance floor.
Excitement filled the ballroom as the raffle winners were announced. Jennifer Coll, RN clinical systems analyst at Parrish Medical Center, was the lucky winner of the $1,000 cash prize. Ina Brown, Dr. Basil Itani and Melissa Lugo each walked away with a $1,000 gift card to Jon’s Fine Jewelry in Cocoa Village.
“It was our privilege to be the presenting sponsor of this great event for the third year in a row. We believe in continuing the foundation’s mission of providing healing experiences to families throughout Brevard County. We’re excited the Women’s Center North Guild now has a permanent home to help prevent loved ones, friends and community members from being injured as a result of domestic violence,” said William A. Boyles, shareholder at GrayRobinson, P.A.
Melissa Lugo, underwriting chair, led the underwriting committee in securing 91 sponsorships from numerous community members and organizations. “Tango” sponsors included: Dr. Frank Dienst and Marilyn Dienst Medical Services LLC; “Cha Cha” sponsors included: BIMDA, Boggs Gases, FLORIDA TODAY, Susan Morse, Senior Vice President, UBS Financial Services, RehabCare Group, SCB Marketing, N. Christine Sylvester and Zumpano, Patricios & Winker, P.A.; and “Salsa” sponsors included: Allender & Allender, P.A., Elder Law Attorneys, Industrial Steel, Inc., Jon’s Fine Jewelry, La Cita Golf & Country Club, Dr. Howard & Sandra Rinker, TeamHealth Anesthesia & Parrish Anesthesia Specialists, TeamHealth Emergency Medicine and Wells Fargo. Other generous sponsors were recognized at the gala.
“On behalf of the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation board of directors and staff, we thank all those who supported the gala and helped make it a great success. We are very proud of the community support, which will benefit those who receive services at the Women’s Center North Guild now and in the future,” said Barbara Terhune, chair of the JPMF board of directors.
Event co-chairs were Chris and Kelley Broome, and Randy and Mary Coleman. Other committee members were Winnie Brewer, Amy Craddock, Betty Greene, Amy Lord, Melissa Lugo, Carla McRae, Jim Musick, Katherine Musick, Laura Norris, Esther Porta, Dr. Tanya Taival and Misty Wilson. The event design and production was done by Nave Event Design.
