Parrish Medical Center (PMC) employees raised more than $120,000 in their seventh annual employee giving campaign that concluded in July. This year the campaign benefited the Women’s Center North Guild and will go to provide counseling services, financial assistance, career guidance, job training, transitional housing, and victim advocacy for abused and battered women.
“The Women's Center is deeply honored to be selected as the signature project for this year's campaign. Through the ongoing support of Parrish Medical Center, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation and PMC employees, the Women's Center will realize a permanent home at 400 Julia Street in Titusville. Our presence in the North Brevard area will allow us to expand our services to help more women and children escape the devastating effects of domestic violence,” said Candace Tate, lead victim advocate with the Women’s Center.
In this year’s NASCAR-themed campaign, Parrish employees were driven to action and exceeded their fundraising goal by nearly $11,000.
“Making our community a better place is simply part of our mission, vision and values,” said Parrish employee and Circle of Giving chairperson Sherry Shelley.
PMC’s employee Circle of Giving program was established in 2006 by the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation as a means to further the medical center’s mission to provide healing experiences for everyone all the time®.
Since 2006, Parrish employees have raised over $800,000 through its Circle of Giving program. To date, the funds have been used to support a medical transportation program for patients in need; playground renovations for the Children’s Center; development of the Parrish Health Village and Senior Solutions program; a work-site exercise facility; and purchase of digital mammography equipment among other employee-designated initiatives focused on helping PMC fulfill its mission.
In addition to the funds raised through the PMC Circle of Giving campaign, the Women’s Center Guild will be the benefactor of this year’s Jess Parrish Medical Foundation’s annual gala, Latin Fusion…Feel the Rhythm of the Night, on Friday, October 24 at La Cita Country Club.
