The Jess Parrish Medical Foundation’s (JPMF) Masquerade at Monte Carlo Benefit Ball held October 29, 2010 at La Cita Country Club, resulted in net proceeds of more than $133,000.
With 69 sponsors and 300 in attendance, the event was a huge success! The proceeds will create a Cancer Care Boutique on the 5th floor of Parrish Medical Center, as well as provide assistance for children and their families at The Children’s Center.
The Monte Carlo inspired evening began with live entertainment by Scott and Scotty Cockerham and dancers from Parrish Health & Fitness Center. Guests then tried their luck at “games of chance” for an entry to win exquisite gift baskets. Barbara West, News Anchor WFTV, Channel 9 News, gave a presentation on the projects being funded through the event and assisted with the live auction hosted by American Fundraising Auctions. Guests bid on trips to Monte Carlo, Pebble Beach and the Sonoma Valley, Tuscany, France, Alaska and a Blue Danube River Cruise, along with jewelry and a treasure chest. Bonnie Sego was the lucky winner of the 1.5 carat diamond necklace donated by Jon Miller of Jon’s Fine Jewelry in Cocoa Village. Dancing and entertainment continued until the midnight grand finale and reverse raffle drawing. Three lucky winners shared the $7,777 jackpot. Proceeds from the raffle benefit The Children’s Center.
“On behalf of the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation board of directors and staff, along with the Cancer Care and The Children's Center staff, we thank all those who attended, volunteered, purchased raffle tickets, contributed to the baskets or otherwise helped make this event an outstanding success for Parrish Medical Center and the North Brevard community,” said Richard Boggs, chairman of the JPMF board of directors.
