The American Red Cross Mid-Florida Region is proud to announce its 2010-2011 Space Coast Chapter Board Chairman, Edwin Loftin.
Loftin, Vice President of Nursing at Parrish Medical Center, brings his passion for serving the community and his commitment to excellence to his new leadership role. Loftin first joined the Space Coast Chapter in 2007 and has been an active member of the Board of Directors. He previously served as the Board Treasurer.
“My goals for the Space Coast Chapter are to grow our relationship with the community one person, one volunteer and one donor at a time. We must be an integral thread in the fabric of the community. We must be one of the first agencies on the minds of our community not only when there is a large disaster, but at every household when there is a need,” said Loftin.
Mr. Loftin is considered a progressive senior healthcare executive who cultivates a culture of care and patient-centered excellence. Loftin says he was drawn to the Red Cross because its mission is tied to the recovery and healing of the community, similar to his focus at Parrish Medical Center.
Loftin will serve a one year term. Also approved by a unanimous vote is First -Vice Chair Steve Geis, Director of Operations at Kennedy Space Center. Past Board Chair Lysee Kierstein, President of All Promotions, continues to serve as an active member.
“Mr. Loftin is a distinguished member of the Brevard community who leads through example and we are thankful for his vision and dedication,” said Mid-Florida Region C.E.O. Joel W. Hass. “He understands the Red Cross mission of providing relief to victims of disaster and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies,” he added.
